WRCA SPORTS PROGRAM

W.R.C.A. uses sports as an avenue to build Godly character. Developing discipline in all areas of the sports allows the students to develop life long habits into vehicles that carry them into their futures. Playing sports at W.R.C.A. also teaches the athletes the benefits of being dedicated to a cause. There is a high stress with sacrificing the individual for the good of the whole. The measurement of success is not in the win/loss column, but rather on the daily improvement in these areas over their time at WRCA. Players, parents and coaches relationships are also valued as everyone together is working towards the same goal. Together everyone achieves more and this is the building of our community.

The teams are active in the South Surrey/White Rock area with playing, competing, volunteering, and interacting within the community. With the small enrollment of W.R.C.A., the school has chosen to play fewer sports and stress excellence in them. In September the gym is packed with eager girls practicing volleyball. The school runs a Senior, Junior, Grade 7-8, and Grade 2-6 Volleyball program. The sports program also runs a Cross Country team in September /October. In November we see the end of Volleyball and the beginning of Basketball. The boys teams are Senior, Junior, Grade 7-8, Grade 5-6, Grade 3-4 and Grade 1-2. In the spring the school turns to Track and Field which is gaining more interest every year. Elementary sports also include co-ed soccer and co-ed softball.
